Salt of the Earth
Manhattan -
The city plans to relocate a 16-ton pile of snow-removal salt from the banks of the Harlem River to an enclosed spot closer to housing. That’s rankled some East Harlem residents, who cite health concerns and are upset trees will be uprooted to accommodate the pile, Angela M. Hill reports.

Great Report. Community Board # 11, of which I’m a member, shall continue to advocate for increases in the number of parks and trees in the East Harlem community, as well as new initiatives such as Green Roofs and Green Walls on new buildings wherever possible, as we have the higest rate of asthma and other respiratory ailments in the city.
