Slate had this interesting story about Starbuck's reverse curse on Mom and Pop coffee shops. I wonder how much increased business for Mom and Pops is generated not by overflow, but by purely embittered patrons who thirst for a cup of moderate-strength black coffee for under a dollar, such as myself.
