New Tutors Tapped to Help City Kids
Manhattan -
At a time when more than 400 public school aides are being fired, city public school students are getting some new help. More than 250 members were inducted into the new class of the City Year Corps, which offers tutoring and mentoring services for students in low-performing schools. Corps members receive financial assistance for their education in return for dedicating a year to the program, which is related to AmeriCorps.
