NEW SONG: The indie punk band "Like I was the Fire" (Aremo Massa, left, and Jaime Marcelo) is part of the DIY culture in music.
AudioFiles explores do-it-yourself culture in New York City. We’ll take you to an inventors’ fair in Queens and a food festival in Brooklyn. You’ll hear from protesters on Wall Street and New York mothers who are “unschooling” their children. The indie punk band, “Like I was the Fire” joins us in our studio for a live acoustic set. (This edition of AudioFiles was rebroadcast October 18 on WBAI Radio).
