City Comptroller John Liu and members of the Sikh community are calling on the city to reform New York Police Department dress-code policies that prohibit Sikh officers from wearing turbans and beards. They pointed to Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department, which recently amended its policy to allow employees to wear religious garb at work.
