Brooklyn —
The Irondale Ensemble Project, a theater company based in Fort Greene, wants area residents to help create a play about the neighborhood.
Last fall the company opened a rehearsal and performance space — the Irondale Center for Theater, Education and Outreach — on the second floor of the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church at 85 South Oxford St.
For its first 25 years, Irondale rented space from public high schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
“Now that we have a permanent home, it’s important that we get to know the people and the places and the history of where we are,” said Blake Wilson, Irondale’s education associate.
