Taxis Cruise into the Future

The city Taxi and Limousine Commission surveyed more than 22,000 New Yorkers and asked them what features they wanted for the cabs of the future. The feedback included calls for easier accessibility, better passenger-driver communication – and nixing “Taxi TV.”

Meanwhile, the city recently announced three finalists in Mayor Bloomberg’s “Taxi of Tomorrow” competition: Ford, Nissan and Karsan USA. Proposed designs include cabs with glass roofs and built-in coolers.
