Brooklyn —
Jane’s Carousel made its long awaited debut in Brooklyn Bridge Park, offering waterfront views – and rides – to fans of all ages.
The restoration of the carousel, originally built in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, was headed by Brooklyn artist Jane Walentas. The merry-go-round – one of 350 left in the U.S. and one of seven in the city – is housed in a glass pavilion designed by French architect Jean Nouvel.
