The term “affordable housing” is often thrown around in New York City. But what is “affordable housing,” exactly? For whom is it affordable? And who subsidizes and builds it?
To help clarify this blurry term, we sat down with Christine Gaspar, executive director of The Center for Urban Pedagogy, an organization that uses art and design (as exemplified by the center’s Affordable Housing Toolkit video) to explain city issues.
