Manhattan —
A day after the National Retail Federation predicted that U.S. retail sales will increase 3.9 percent during the holiday season, Macy’s Inc. Chairman and CEO Terry Lundgren discussed a plan to help make shopping a holiday for his chain’s customers.
The so-called omni-channel retailing strategy allows customer to incorporate multiple modes of interaction – such as tablets and smart phones — either in or out of the store, giving shoppers more control over the experience. Lundgren spoke at the Society of American Business Editors and Writers Conference, held at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism.
