Manhattan —
Some 100 stationary bikes were locked into place in Times Square as cyclists joined the race against rare cancers at the annual Cycle for Survival fundraiser. All donations will help further research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which treats more than 400 subtypes of cancer annually.
The fundraiser, which takes place across the county, has raised more than $50 million since 2007. The high-energy event also gives cancer patients and their supporters hope.
