Dog is Michael Schneider’s co-pilot.
Schneider, based in Westchester, is the founder of Pilots To The Rescue, a nonprofit that recruits volunteers to fly animals facing euthanasia to no-kill shelters, foster homes and adoption centers across the U.S.
The organization, which Schneider started last year after finding 10 puppies dumped in a roadside ditch, saves about 500 animals annually.
So far, Schneider has raised $50,000 dollars for Pilots to the Rescue. He said he hopes “to create more awareness” about the four million animals euthanized in the U.S. every year.
