BROOKLYN —
When a tenants association showed up at NYCHA’s Marlboro Houses to give away turkeys for Thanksgiving, they didn’t have many takers.
“Right now we have no gas, and we’re cooking on hot plates,” said Carolyn Spivey. “How much can you cook on a hot plate?”
On Oct. 14, NYCHA turned off the gas in Building 28, due to a gas leak call. Kitchen lines have remained shut. And residents have been told they will stay that way until the new year.
