The success of the 14th Street busway has transportation advocates seeking to replicate its car-free lanes outside Manhattan.
John Choe of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce knows exactly where it he’d like to see that happen. “The pedestrian count in downtown Flushing is only second to Times Square,” he says. “Our commercial district is the largest transportation hub outside of Manhattan.”
The congested streets around Main Street are some of the most dangerous in the city.
