BRONX —
Shoppers and storekeepers in Mott Haven and Hunts Point are taking a variety of precautions to keep the coronavirus at bay.
Shelves at the Rite Aid on Southern Boulevard in Hunts Point once lined with hand sanitizers, surgical masks, gloves, hand soaps and disinfectant sprays were cleaned out.
At the Jimmy Jazz shoe and streetwear store across the street, workers are repeatedly wiping seats and surfaces. “Customers are kicking doors open and do not want to shake hands,” manager Albis Mendoza said. “Cashiers are wearing gloves at the register.”
