With restaurants, bars and cafes limited only to takeout or delivery service, South Bronx food businesses fear what the emergency restrictions will mean for their finances.
“We might have to close down for at least a week,” said Miguel Saavedra, manager at La Morada, the Mott Haven restaurant known for its award-winning tacos. “I have not gone through the process of cutting staff. We are a small family business.”
The uncertainty looming over La Morada is not uncommon in Mott Haven and Hunts Point.
