BROOKLYN —
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a line formed on the Borough Park streets outside of the Masbia Soup Kitchen, where more than 200 people waited for a chance to grab as many groceries as one cart could hold.
Demand had increased by 500% and the organization needed to find a better way to serve as many people as possible.
They found an answer: An appointment-based system via the Plentiful app, which allows people to reserve a time slot one day a week to get groceries.
