More than 70,000 New Yorkers may be struggling with unexplained longterm symptoms of COVID-19, according to a range of estimates from doctors and hospitals contacted by THE CITY.

“We’re looking at patients who are still testing positive day to day, so this is a population that’s going to continue to grow,” said Dr. Zijian Chen, who directs Mount Sinai’s Center for Post-COVID Care.
