QUEENS —
In the midst of the pandemic and the #BlackLivesMatter protests, Brandi Jones saw an opportunity.
For the founder of Black Village Arts—an independent, multi-purpose arts and education collective—the stresses of 2020 presented a chance to help businesses and young people in her community. Her newly formed organization started by reinventing storefronts, working on community fridges and transforming visuals for local merchants.
Now Jones would like to find an official community space for Black Village Arts, a place to serve as a hub for culture, connection and the arts.
