Founded by Chantal Allison-Konteh as a nonprofit diaper bank, Her Village is now providing pads, tampons and liners at community-fridge sites.
“I always say if condoms are free, period supplies should be free,” says Allison-Konteh. “They’re very expensive. If I can’t buy food for my family, I cannot buy pads and tampons.”
Amid the pandemic, Her Village kicked off a pilot partnership with community-fridge organizers to make “Flo Kits” more accessible.
