MANHATTAN — Dance enthusiasts rejoiced as the New York City Ballet returned from its pandemic hiatus for a sold-out opening night at Lincoln Center.
The performance was welcomed as a collective comeback for an audience of 2,500, who celebrated what for many was their first big night out in nearly a year and a half.
Many wore wore sequins and feathered dresses, holding bejeweled clutches. Patterned pocket squares peeked out from suit jackets as happy fans snapped photos in front of the center’s iconic fountain.
