MANHATTAN —
The Theodore Roosevelt statue in front of the American Museum of Natural History on the Upper West Side has been officially slated for removal.
But the promised relocation of the statue—which shows Native American and African men walking alongside the one-time U.S. president as he sits astride a horse in a depiction that promotes racism and colonialism—is apparently not happening soon enough for two people who splashed paint on it overnight.
