MANHATTAN—Whether you call it weiqi or Go, this ancient board game of black and white tiles that originated in China has been steadily gaining popularity in New York. Reporter Kimberly Izar talked to some local players of the game at a New York Institute of Go to learn why this game of strategy—whith simple rules but complex gameplay— remains so compelling.
